All data protection regulations are observed. Your name will never appear on the Internet or in any publication. If you wish, your family doctor and your obstetrician may be contacted by the study physician to inform them of your metabolic health results obtained during the study.
In this research project, data about you and your health is collected and processed, some of which is automated. The data you enter into the app will be stored on a server at the HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Sierre. This information is pseudonymized at the time of the entry. Pseudonymized means that all data that identifies you (name, date of birth, etc.) is replaced with a code (e.g., 001, 002, etc.). It is not possible to link the data to you without the code, which remains permanently within the CHUV.
For the phone call at the end of the study, your name will never be spoken while the recording is in progress, and you will always be notified of the start and end of the recording during the call. These recordings will be treated confidentially, and only those directly involved in the study will have access to them. In addition, after transcription, the recordings will be destroyed. If you wish, questions asked during phone calls can be forwarded to you in advance. You will be asked during the call if you agree to be recorded as you have the right to refuse. This only applies to the first 8 consecutively recruited participants who agree to an interview about their experience with the app. The phone call at 2 weeks will not be recorded and systematically analyzed by the research team.
Only a limited number of people can view your data in an unencrypted form, exclusively for the purpose of performing tasks that are necessary to run the project. These persons are bound by professional secrecy. As a participant, you have the right to access your data at any time.
Furthermore, none of your medical data collected during your routine clinical appointments will be connected to the app or leave the CHUV.
All data protection guidelines are strictly adhered to. It is possible that your data will be transmitted in pseudonymized form, e.g., for publication, and that it may be made available to other researchers.
If you agree, the persons in charge of your medical follow-up may be contacted for information on your health status.
Your coded data could later prove valuable in answering other questions or be sent to another database in Switzerland or abroad for use in other research projects (re-use). However, this database must comply with the same standards and requirements as the present project database. For this reusage of your data, we ask you to sign a separate declaration of consent at the end of this information sheet. This second consent is independent of participation in the project.
The project may be subject to inspections. These may be carried out by the responsible ethics committee. In this case, the investigating physician must provide your data for the purpose of these inspections. All persons involved are bound by strict confidentiality.
